With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, son, brother, and friend, Arthur Lee Walker, Jr., who departed from this world on December 17, 2024, at the age of 55.
Arthur was born on November 27, 1969, at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California, to Arthur Lee Walker, Sr. and Mary Helen Holmes. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep love for hip hop music, sports, and the Lord. His life was marked by his dedication to his faith and his family. Arthur spent his childhood and much of his adult life as a devoted member of The Living Gospel Church in Los Angeles, California, where he was affectionately known as “Arthur, Jr.”
Arthur married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Bridgette Bledsoe, whom he met at Pomona High School in 1986. The two were married on November 23, 1991 in Claremont, California, and together they built a life filled with love and memories. They purchased a home in Fontana, California, where they devoted themselves to raising their three children—Portia, Marquis, and Jayda. Though their marriage came to an end in 2011, their shared years were a testament to their dedication to friendship, family, and each other.
Arthur dedicated nearly 20 years of his career to PepsiCo as a truck driver, where he took pride in his hard work and commitment. In June of 2018, Arthur obtained his Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Human Resources.
Arthur is survived by his three children, Portia James, Marquis Walker, and Jayda Galloway; Six grandchildren, Amaya Starks, Jayson Walker, Londyn Thomas, Roman James, Micah Shai Galloway, and Yara Galloway; His mother, Mary Helen Massey-Johnson; His stepmother, Patricia Walker; Two sisters, Timberly Hall and Tiffany Linwood; and a host of close uncles, cousins, and long time friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Arthur Lee Walker, Sr.
Arthur will always be remembered for his charisma, charm, and sense of humor, his passion for spending time with the people that he loved, and the unconditional love he gave freely to everyone in his life. Arthur truly was the life of the party.
A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00am, at Green Family Cremation and Burial. Family and friends are invited to join together to share memories and honor his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Green Family Cremation and Burial to help honor Arthur’s memory and ensure his memorial expenses are covered with care and ease.
Arthur’s light shone brightly in the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
