Bobbie Nell James

Bobbie Nell James was born in Bloomburg, Texas on April 14, 1924 to teh proud parents of Jake and Carrie Tumblin Sasser. She was the 3rd child of 7 siblings. Bobbie came from a God-fearing family and accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age. She was baptized under the late Rev. Oscar Mothershed of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Bloomburg, TX.

Bobbie received her formal education in Atlanta, Texas. Attending Pruitt High School, as well as some surrounding schools of Los Angeles, Ca. After hard work, studying and love for people she became a RN for the Veterans Hospital and worked for many years before her retirement.

On September 11, 1978 she was united in holy matrimony to Wilson James in Denver, Colorado. they stayed married for 32 years until his death on August 19, 2010. Out of this union there were no children born. Every year July was a big month for our family as we came together to celebrate our family Sasser Reunion. Bobbie made it her priority for many years to attend representing her late mother Carrie Sasser and those that had gone on before her, until she was no longer able to. We all know that her love came from Sasser Hill. She loved to dance to good music, especially to Jackie Wilson. "Oh she could cut a rug", she was the life of any party.

On September 14, 2021 at 3:48 pm God softly whispered in her ear it's time to come home and take your rest! From labor to her reward at the age of 97 yrs old, Bobbie Nell was preceded in death by both her parents Jake and Carrie Tumblin, two sisters Bonnie Scott and Rosemary Henry, three brother Terry Adams, Jay and John Tumblin.

She leaves to celebrate a well lived life, two sisters, Jannie Horton (100 yrs old), Doris McGraw both of Los Angeles, Ca., one step daughter Theresa Taylor of Leavenworth, Kansas, 4 nieces and 7 nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. She was loved by so many and will truly be missed.
