Eric Bernard Boyd

Eric was born on February 21, 1966, to Coy Foster and Connie Boyd in Pineville, Louisiana. He departed this earthly life on Monday, June 13, 2022.

He, along with his sister Keisha, was raised in Bunkie, Louisiana by his great-grand-mother Alice Steen Washington and his grandmother, Doris Nell Johnson. Eric accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of 2nd St. Paul Baptist Church of Bayhills in Bunkie, Louisiana.

After graduating from Bunkie High School, Eric moved to Los Angeles, California to live with his oldest sister Keisha Triplett-Ellis. Eric worked at Georgia Pacific in Orange County, California as a machine operator until he developed serious health issues. Eric was a huge sports fan. He enjoyed playing basketball and was a huge New Orleans Saints fan and Los Angeles Laker fan.

Eric was quiet, and humble, but oh so funny. His children were everything to him. He loved, cared for, and was always concerned about his family and his community. He went above and beyond to help whomever he could. Growing up in Bunkie, he was like a son to Mr. JL and Lena Sampson. He kept in touch with Mrs. Lena until he passed away. He meant so much to so many... He was loved beyond words and will truly be missed.

Eric was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Alice Washington; grandmother Doris Nell Johnson; father Coy Foster; uncle Gerald Johnson; aunt Alice Faye Johnson and nephew Denordo Boyd.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories, four children: Sasha Boyd, Eric Boyd Jr., Terry Turner and Zerrick Boyd; eleven grandchildren: Tyshawn, Shy'ann, Amour, Kimora, Shanice, Zamyiah, Dario, Dior, Zahir, Shawn Paul, and Zoe; mother Connie Boyd; four sisters: Keisha Ellis (Wayne), Shenitha Boyd, Roslyn Boyd and Shataka Boyd; brother Jermaine Boyd; one aunt Constance Lynn Combs (Jesse); one uncle Lloyd Triplett (Linda); girlfriend Natacha Smith; very close friends Chefondolyn Wade-Simon, Jesse Combs, Donald Brown, Colby Stapleton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
