Ingrid Helen Rodriguez was born on July 9, 1964, in Fontana, California. The eldest of 4 children born to Max & Anna Rodriguez, she grew up and went to school in the Mira Loma area of Riverside. Ingrid attended grade school at Troth Street Elementary before transferring to Jurupa Jr. High, and then on to Rubidoux High School. While in high school, Ingrid participated in ROP and began working at Bank of America, her first job. Ingrid graduated high school in 1982.
In 1983, Ingrid began working for Roundtable Pizza where she met two of her closest friends. It was during this time that Ingrid and her friends began following a glam metal band by the name of Lixx Array, and became known as the “Hacksaw Honeys!” Ingrid spent a great deal of time at the Marquee Club in Garden Grove, where the band performed often. Ingrid began working for the Family Support Division of the District Attorney’s office (later becoming the Department of Child Support Services, or DCSS) in December 1988. She was hired as an Office Assistant and worked in the departments of reception, microfiche and administration. Ingrid later promoted to Legal Support Assistant, the position she held until she retired in 2021. Ingrid made many friends while at DCSS and quickly became a department celebrity. Many of her coworkers regarded her as the reason they were able to get through the day. Ingrid had a quick wit and wicked sense of humor. She truly had a gift for making people laugh as she mastered the art of sarcasm. She was always the life of the party and always had the best stories to tell… she remembered EVERYTHING. She was truly loved by everyone.
Ingrid moved to the high desert to live with her brother Chip’s family in 2001 and enjoyed being alongside her nephews as they all grew up. Her nephews were truly her pride and joy and she made a point of attending every event and celebration. In the late 90s, Ingrid was diagnosed with cancer, but ultimately won her battle against the disease. In 2006, Ingrid bought a new home in Phelan, adjacent to her parents, so she could spend more time with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her parents, her extended family, and especially her nephews, as they developed into the young men they are today.
Ingrid succumbed to a blood clot in her lungs on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Fontana, California. Though gone too soon, Ingrid will live on in the hearts of all who knew her... There will never be another Ingrid.
