James Curtis Honest, a proud veteran of the United States Army, Airborne Division, passed away on June 21, 2022. James was born on June 21, 1950, in Los Angeles, California to Betty Lois Jenkins and James Curtis Honest, Sr. He graduated from John C. Fremont High School on January 31, 1969.
James was an accomplished Karate martial arts instructor and achieved the highest-level Karate Black Belt rating. James received a Certificate of Recognition by the City of Los Angeles ninth council district on June 3, 2018, for his work as a leader in the Original Warrior Association.
James accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He often spoke of his love for the Lord and would read his bible early each day.
As a single parent, James raised and provided for his beloved sixteen-year-old daughter, Tashana, as an infant until his passing.
James is survived by his daughters, Tashana Honest, Jamese Honest, and Tashari Carballo; his sons, Charles Honest and Romar Harrison; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives; and many friends.
