Jose Anthonio Casarez, age 67 passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in West Covina,
California.
Jose is survived by his twin sister Mary Helen Aldrete of Alta Loma, California, his sisters
Josie Ortiz of Montclair, California, Lucy Navarro of Glendora, Calfornia, Rosemary Arvizu of
Santa Clarita, California and a brother, Pete Casares of Buena Park, Californa, He is preceded in
death by his parents Pedro Casarez and Natividad Casarez and brothers
Pilo Vallejos and Eddie Casarez.
Jose was born January 11, 1952 in Garfield, New Mexico, to parents Pedro and Natividad Casarez.
He graduated from Domingez Senior High School in 1970 in Compton, California.
For years Jose worked as a custodial engineer and also ran a carpet cleaning business.
Jose was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints for the majority of his life. Jose enjoyed spending time
with his family and friends. A big part of Jose's life was assisting his church family in
providing support to those in need. This brought great joy to his life. Jose's family
and friends will always remember him as a loving, funny, giving person who was always
willing and ready to give a helping hand and he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Jose's life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, 11:00 AM to
12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1271 W. Badillo St.,Covina.
Bishop McKendrich will officate the service with a reception to follow at the church from
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
