Josefa Ardon Zepeda

Josefa Ardon Zepeda was born on February 10, 1948 and peacefully passed away on November 21, 2021. She was known to loved ones as Fita or Josie, she lived a wonderful 73 years filled with life experiences and beautiful memories to tell, which she shared with so many. Born in El Salvador to Bernabe Rivera and Dominga Ardon. She began laboring in the cotton fields at an early age of 12 years. As a young girl in her early teens, she worked as a nanny for a family of a US Ambassador. This opportunity brought her to Panama, where she met her first husband, Carlos E. Borbua.  Fita arrived to the state of Massachusetts in 1968, and eventually made Southern California her home where she was joined by her husband Carlos. She became a US Citizen in 1968. She gave birth to 2 daughters, Judith and Caren.  She was committed to working long hard hours to provide for her family, not only her immediate, but also in  helping support her parents and siblings in El Salvador. She resided in Los Angeles, San Gabriel, and finally, Rancho Cucamonga California. Over many years,  she transformed her backyard to grow a wide variety of flowers and plants, of which she made floral arrangements to adorn her home and gifting them also to many loved ones,  bringing each happiness and warmth.  She had a green thumb and the garden was her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bernabe and Dominga, and survived by her daughter Judith J. Borbua Caputo and husband Nick Jr.;  her daughter Caren D. Borbua Isalas and husband Roberto, her sister Gregoria A. Rivera, her brother Jose Rivera, her sister Cristina Bernal, her stepsons Ivan Lopez and Johnny Zepeda, and her godson Joel Aguilar. She is also survived by many loving cousins,  nephews, nieces, in-laws, and a host of friends.
