Louis 'Louie' Joe Baltazar passed away on December 8, 2024. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Born on August 14, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, to Teresa Estrella and Jesus Baltazar, Louie graduated from Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights in 1974. He immediately enlisted in the United States Army, taking great pride in his service as a veteran. After his military career, he joined the California Department of Corrections, retiring as a Facility Captain after nearly 31 years.
Louie was an avid athlete who loved running, kayaking, hiking, and playing softball. A passionate football fan, he was devoted to the Los Angeles Rams and USC Trojan football teams throughout his life, and also supported his Lakers and Angels teams. Louie enjoyed traveling to various cities and countries and cherished spending time with family and friends. He was truly a ‘people person,’ and his company was a delight to everyone who knew him.
Louie lived a life marked by dedication, commitment, and love for his family and friends. He was a guiding light to all who knew him and an inspiration to both children and adults. Those fortunate enough to know Louie remember his vibrant personality, perseverance, and zest for life.
We celebrate Louie’s life, remembering the many lives he touched with his generosity, compassion, strength and encouragement. He leaves behind a legacy of love and countless cherished memories. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and spirit will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
Louie is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Penny and Heather; son, Joe; three sisters, Angie, Teresa, and Debbie; two brothers, Edward and Joe; as well as eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
