Margaret Glenn

October 22, 1925 — September 9, 2020

Margaret Johnson Glenn was born on October 22, 1925, and was one of the thirteen children to the parents of Edna and Granville Johnson Jr. in Plaquemine, Louisiana. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Inglewood, California surrounded by her family.

Margaret relocated from New Orleans, Louisiana to Los Angeles, California in 1964 with her two children, where she resided for the rest of her life.

She was a member of Baldwin Hills Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Ronald Roberts Sr. She was a faithful member for over 45 years; Senior Usher Board, member of Golden Rod Senior Fellowship, former Deaconess Board member and Sunday school Participant.

She was the matriarch of the family where her love and guidance reached well beyond immediate family. She was a strong, devoted, loving mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She loved baking, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. Her strength and nurturing held the family together.

She is survived by her son Dewey Glenn; granddaughter she raised as a daughter Alanna McGraw; five sisters: Dorothy Brown, Geraldine (Richard) Lockhart, Nora Perkins, Irene Johnson and Joyce Washington; four grandchildren: Alanna McGraw, LaTrice Locus, Kevin Tate and Toya Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren: Reginald Locus, Tyler Locus, Rondeja Washington, Imani Washington, I'Zhana Harbor, I'Zhanae Harbor, Shauntrice Tate, Edjuan Smith, Courtney Frazier, Delaney Campbell, J'Ron Douglas-Tate and Jasmine Downs and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diana Glenn, grandson Jeffrey Downs, five sisters and three brothers.
