Myrna Paralejas Ramirez was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was born in Cardona, Rizal, Philippines to Apostol and Dolores Paralejas on October 16, 1955, and was the 3rd of 11 children. Myrna had dreamed of becoming a Nurse, but being the obedient daughter that she was, she honored her father’s wishes and graduated from Adamson University with a degree in Accountancy.
She met the love of her life, Simon Ramirez, in their hometown of Cardona, Rizal and the two secretly wed on April 8, 1980, right before he left for the US. On December 25, 1980, her husband returned and married her again in front of their family and friends. Their love remained strong despite having to live thousands of miles apart and they were finally blessed with their firstborn, Carly Simon, in 1984. In 1987, Myrna and her daughter immigrated to the US to join her husband and finally be together. While living in the US, they were blessed with two more children, Casey Ciara and Christian Jordan.
Myrna and her family lived a simple but happy life in San Jose, California. Although she was not able to fulfill her dream of becoming a Nurse, she worked hard to become a CNA and ended up working at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She found joy in being able to work in the medical field and help care for those in need. In 2007, she retired and moved back to the Philippines with her family.
Myrna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to cook and share delicious meals with everyone. She had the most infectious smile and laugh and was a blessing to those who knew her. Her favorite hobby was gardening, and her favorite flowers were roses.
After being married for 38 wonderful years, her husband sadly passed away in 2019. She returned to the US in 2020 to be with her children and grandchildren until she was finally reunited with her “Atako.”
Myrna is survived by her three children, her son-in-law Raven Kale, her grandchildren, Zak, Zam, and Zab, her nine brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Though she may not physically be with us anymore, she will forever be in our minds and in our hearts. May she rest in eternal paradise.
