Queen Elizabeth Nelson was born on March 28, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia to Nathaniel and Queen Elizabeth Bennett. She was the oldest of two children. She was married 65 years of her life. First, to Delmos Gray Sessom; of the union, 6 children were born: Delmos, Renay, Darlene, Mamie, Trina, and Dana. Followed by her marriage to Herbert D. Nelson, Sr.; of that union, 3 children were born: Roslin, Jenesta, and Herbert Jr. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She had many interests and hobbies including sewing, cooking, shopping, tending to her house plants, and gardening.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband: Herbert D. Nelson, Sr.; daughters: Renay (Richard), Darlene (Arthur), Mamie (Larry), Roslin, and Jenesta; sons: Dana (Tracy) and Herbert Jr.; sibling: Roslin Joan McFadden, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her fist husband, Delmos G. Sessom, son Delmos N. Sessom, and daughter, Trina V. Sessom.
