A Special Tribute To My Father
To be able to describe the relationship between a father and daughter is indescribable. You always hear about being daddy's girl and the daughters looking most like their father. This was all true. My dad would always brag about how much I look like him and did not let me forget how I lucky I was to do so. Whenever someone would ask, Where did you get your red hair from? He would be the first to answer, her handsome daddy. Our relationship was so special because we have so many memorable times that would just be arguing over stupid things and teasing each other nonstop. The most recent time was our very long car ride to Arizona a couple weeks ago where he was nagging non-stop about how I drive so fast and crazy but then would go on about how I am so much like him and I probably learned that from him. My dad was such a caring person. You can ask anyone; he would drop everything to help you. He was always fixing someone's car or remodeling someone's house. He always made sure everyone around him was happy even if he looked serious most of the time, I promise he was as soft as a teddy bear. When it came to going to my dad's every other weekend, it was always the most fun. From the rides home from school where he would pick me up early for no reason or to playing sick on Mondays so I could stay one more day. As I got older of course seeing him every other weekend went to seeing him once a month and then eventually went to every other month due to school and work but every time I would see him he wouldn't let me forget how proud he was of me and that he knew I am doing everything I can to be successful. I can still replay him telling me that the small noise that I am hearing from my car is probably nothing to worry about, but I would still call him ten times over and over to make sure. I won't have you to walk me down the aisle or to eventually meet your grandchildren, but I know you are watching me every day and I will do nothing but keep you proud. I am never going to understand why you were taken from me but I will do everything for you. I love you so much dad.
Always, your baby girl.
