In Loving Memory of Richard L. Avila
Richard Louis Avila, age 62 passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Friday, February 14, 2020 with his family by his side, at Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville California. He was born June 28, 1957 in Apple Valley California, to Louis and Margaret Avila. He married Rosalie F. Chavez on 04/02/1977 whom he survived by his wife of 42 years, his four sons and their spouses, Richard and Mary Lou Avila, Jesse and Kassie Avila, Matthew and Anna Avila, and Joseph and Yuliana Avila. He has 15 beautiful grandchildren, the youngest two weeks old, and one great grandchild.
Louis & Margaret Avila of Hesperia, raised Richard with his sister Virginia and four brothers, David, Edward, Robert and Michael. Richard was a 1975 graduate of Apple Valley High School. He was a proud Veteran who served honorable in the Marines as a Corporal (Combat Engineer) over three years and an Expert Marksmen, which he continued to enjoy that hobby throughout his life. Richard joined The Labors Union Local 783 proudly following the steps of his father Louis and worked alongside his brother Edward. Together they built many structures and landmarks in the high desert. Richard recently retired from a long successful career as a Construction Laborer. He was also known as a man of many trades, with his expertise in demolition and construction. He excelled at many things and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Richard was a good man, also a teacher to his sons and to many others. He was always doing something to keep himself busy, and he will be deeply missed in all our lives!
