Roland Garcia

Roland Garcia, 72, died of cancer on November 5, 2023 at home, with his wife at his side.  Roland was born on September 4, 1951 in Edinburg, Texas to Eduvina and Manuel Garcia.  He grew up in Raymondville, Texas and graduated as a Star football player from Raymondville High School in 1969.  He moved to Upland, California in 1970 and attended Chaffey College and later University of LaVerne.  He lived in Upland and later Alta Loma for the next 53 years. Roland loved sports and played on various baseball and softball teams as an adult.  His favorite time of the year was football season, where he enjoyed watching his favorite team Dallas Cowboys.  Roland is survived by his wife, Judy, daughters Rachel and Selina Garcia, and grandson Brayden Brawner, all from Alta Loma, brothers Fabiel of Raymondville, TX, Rene of Essex, IA, and Ceasar of Alta Loma.  He is predeceased by both parents, sisters Elena Garcia and Herminia Garza, brothers Roy and Armando Garcia, and granddaughter Alona Matrese.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on November 27, 2023 at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, 9135 Banyan St., Alta Loma, CA 91737.  A Rosary service will begin one half hour prior to funeral mass for those who wish to attend.
