Sadie Lee Jones, age 99 years old, died peacefully of natural causes on December 23rd, 2020 at home in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Thompson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and a host of relatives and friends.
She was affectionately known by many names; Aunt Sadie, Cousin Sadie, Sadie Mae, Miss Sadie, Mother Jones, Sadie Bones Jones, and the name she held most dear, Granny.
In 1969, she united with Praises of Zion Baptist Church. She loved serving the Lord and serving under her Pastor, Reverend J. Benjamin Hardwick and First Lady, Thelma Hardwick. She faithfully served on the Deaconess Board, Mother’s Board and as a member of the Alter Guild and Naomi Circle. In 2013, she moved to Rancho Cucamonga to live with her daughter and she attended New Direction COGIC, Bishop Raymond E. Watts, Pastor.
Sadie was known for being an excellent cook. She could cook and bake anything and never needed to look at a recipe. She would often host family dinners and enjoyed the company of her family. Sadie was quick-witted and always had something memorable and funny to say.
