Life Reflection

William Theodore Summers was born on February 22, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, to Willie P. Summers and Sarah Rodriguez Summers. William was the eldest of six siblings, including Ronnie Summers, Sherleena (Cheryl) Robertson, Felicia Smith, Jonathan Summers, Lethia Gardner, and his twin brother Peter Summers. William grew up in Los Angeles California. He attended and graduated from Crenshaw High School in 1975. William received his certification in graphic arts from his trade tech college in 1977. He then went on to work in the printing and graphic arts industry for over 40 years. In 1983, William married his first wife, and they had two beautiful daughters, Chatterly and Chesselle Summers, in Los Angeles, California, who were with him when he made his transition. William loved his daughters dearly and always spoke with pride when referring to his girls. William went on to remarry in 1995, where he raised his stepson Steven Scott, who he often referred to as his son. At nineteen years old, he met and dated his current wife Michelle Ball- Summers. Shortly after his retirement, he reconnected with his loving wife in 2011 and married in October 2012. For the last nine and a half years, William and Michelle have lived an exemplary life as a couple. While dating Michelle, he gifted her with a cross necklace that she carries with her until this very day. William had a passion for cycling. He began cycling with friends and other cyclists before deciding to teach cycling classes at the YMCA (Gardena, CA). After retiring from his long-time company Bowne Printing Company, he started his cycling and fitness business called Work Your Body Fitness. In 2012, William was involved in a car accident. Despite his extensive injuries, he refused to let this slow him down, and he continued conducting his cycling classes. Several months after his car accident, he was hospitalized for kidney failure. He then began his dialysis journey at the beginning of 2013 and continued until his final days. Throughout his journey, his wife Michelle remained by his side. William was a breath of fresh air; he was far from ordinary. He was kind and loving. William was a bones champion and loved to barbeque, look sharp, stand out, and entertain his family, friends, and loved ones. William was a loving human being. Everyone he ever met loved him and considered him family. William was thoughtful and caring, creative, and outgoing. He loved to try new things, and his personality shined in any room he entered.

William passed away on Saturday, July 2, at the age of 65 years old in Gardena, California. In his final days, his wife, daughters, and twin brother were by his side. William T.
