William Scott Thomas

d. October 12, 2020

The family of William Scott Thomas is saddened to announce his untimely passing on October 12, 2020  at his home in Apple Valley, CA. He was born on April 8, 1955 in Corona, CA to Eugene and Janet (Whitlock) Thomas, the second of their three children. Raised in Rowland Heights , Bill proved to be an excellent wrestler, and CIF finalist, for Los Altos High School (1973). Nobody was ever more proud of his car, “The Blue Bomb” (a 1967 Chevrolet Impala), than Bill.

In 1978, Bill married Cassie Perkins, and to their union, four children were born: Marsha, Nannette, Brandon, and Brianna. In the meantime, Bill worked as a mechanic for Pep Boys, even relocating for a year to Audubon, New Jersey. Now back in Southern California, Bill took an Associate of Science in Automotive Engineering from Victor Valley College, and eventually went to work for Precision Auto, from which he retired.

Bill was always a car guy and was a fan of NASCAR, San Francisco 49ers, Halloween, and the sci-fi classics, Star Trek and Star Wars. He enjoyed traveling with family to great destinations like Hawaii and Baja California.

Bill leaves to survive his passing, those who may or may not inherit his interests (but will never forget his love), his precious children: Marsha (Michael) Nguyen; Nanny (Scott) Irwin; Brandon (Leanne) Thomas; and Brianna Thomas; and their mother, Cassie. He leaves also his beloved siblings: Jim Thomas and Sherry Thomas; eight fantastic grandchildren (and one “in the oven,” who will told Bill’s story, time and again, in future years); one nephew; as well as Bill’s former boss and friend, Dave; and a host of others who appreciated Bill for his wisdom, skills, friendliness, and … for scaring them out of their wits on Halloween!
